What is VCS Core?
VCS Core module provides an API to plug in version control
functionality to the IDE. See the documentation page for details.
Since NetBeans 5.0 modules of this family are replaced with new versioning modules.
Versioning Support Family based on VCS Core
Following projects constitutes NetBeans IDE versioning support in pre-5.0 versions:
- vcscore - elementary infrastructure
- vcsgeneric - profiles for CVS, PVCS, VSS, Starteam, Subversion, Teamware and Clearcase
- diff - diff and merge support
- javacvs - CVS client implementation in Java (a library)
- vcscvs - discontinued hardcoded profile for CVS
